You can rent a van to move items yourself, or you can hire a company to send everything for you. Before you move, call the shipping company four weeks ahead of time. When the car mover arrives make sure you have someone to transfer the car to the mover. Because some neighborhoods are so small, car shipping companies can't come and pick up your vehicle. This is why some companies may ask you to meet them somewhere. They may even do this for the delivery.

It is best to have enough insurance by the car shipping company. Never leave anything valuable in your car. Spare tires and things of that nature are ok to leave in your car. If for some reason you are not able to pick up your car, make sure the company puts your car in a safe storage facility. Sometimes additional charges are applies to your bill when choosing this option.

Before choosing a shipping company make sure you check their references. This includes you calling your local better business bureau, verify the shippers license is valid and active. You will find this information out with the state or federal department of transportation. If you should have some kind of problem with the car shipping company, you may want to try and resolve your dispute with the company itself. More than likely they will try to solve the problem themselves because most of their business comes from referrals. As you can see shipping companies do a lot of work and before you choose a company, make sure you read the contract before you sign.
